Bathroom Flooring

Remodeling your bathroom can be fun until you get to flooring. Bathroom flooring can be challenging because you want flooring that is attractive and trendy, but you also have to carefully select it so it’s extremely functional. Unlike other areas of your home, bathroom flooring needs to be highly moisture resistant, waterproof, and able to endure the humid bathroom climate.

Given those factors, most people choose ceramic or porcelain tile for their bathroom floors. Both are extremely resilient, easy to clean, waterproof, and available in many colors that make customizing your bathroom simple. They are also extremely durable, which is important given your bathroom is one of the most trafficked areas of your Houston home.

However, if you don't want ceramic tile, you have other options. Luxury vinyl, for example, can give you the same performance for a lower price in some instances and is known for its high-performance value. However, you will be limited since it cannot be installed in showers. Therefore, if you want a cohesive floor, you may want to refocus your search towards ceramic or porcelain.

Of course, you can also choose natural stone, which is extremely attractive and known for its long lifespan. It’s also costly. If you opt for natural stone, you will likely never need to replace your bathroom flooring. This type of stone does require more upkeep, though, so there is a trade-off.
